The myth of American Dream with the bright lights of New York, the impressiveness of the Plaza, an extraordinary gift for hope. It concelead boundary that divides the reality from illusions. The illusions seems more real than the reality itself.
E' stata Miuccia Prada a disegnare i costumi del Grande Gatsby , il nuovo adattamento cinematografico del romanzo di Fitzgerald. La stilista ha adattato 40 abiti dell' archivio di Prada per il film. Per evocare i Roaring Twenties, i ruggenti anni Venti, Prada ha collaborato con Catherine Martin.
I costumi del film sono stati esposti a New York durante la mostra Catherine Martin and Miuccia Prada Dress Gatsby", dal 11 al 17 maggio è possibile vederli anche a Roma nella galleria Sordi.
Fitzgerald fece una satira sociale del mondo dorato degli anni precedenti alla grande depressione.
Il Grande Gatsby è una rappresentazione del sogno Americano con la vita scintillante di New York, le feste sontuose, le flappers, l'imponenza del Plaza, la speranza per il futuro fino alla disillusione del mito stesso.
