What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do?

EN. After a breakdown and a flop, times get tough. What to do when you don't know what to do? You need a plan B, a shred of hope, and... a guide.

Famous fictional characters could be relevant to your hard times and a good guide. Really!

What would Scarlett do, for instance, if she was in your shoes? What would Jane Eyre do?

Take Gone with the Wind, Scarlett doesn’t quail at her obstacles:  war, poverty, loss of her world and her love.  She always finds a solution, and emerges victorious. When Rhett goes out, abandoning her without a shred of hope, she cries just for a moment before deciding to have him again and to take control again of her world.

Or for example  Jane Eyre, she finds problems and obstacles, but she is always true to herself and she refuses to yield. From the beginning, Jane has a passionate disposition guided by a sense of her self-worth, dignity and principle. Her integrity is continually tested within the novel, but she escapes from passion without principle and principle without passion. So Jane learns to balance them and at the end she finds happiness.

In the end, poetry also can give us courage, such as the lines of a famous poetry written by Kipling.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
[...]

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can [...]
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can [...] lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

Cosa fare quando non sai cosa fare?

IT.

[...]

Se saprai sognare, senza fare del sogno il tuo padrone;
[...]

[...]
  sarai un Uomo [..]
