Beach Couture. Bellezze sotto il sole

L'amore per il mare e la passione per la moda ha spinto due sorelle, Benedetta e Isabella Stanca, a creare SoloBlu  il marchio di eleganti costumi da bagno cuciti come un capo sartoriale. Lavorano con cura per la vestibilità e i tessuti per cercare di valorizzare la figura. Si ispirano allo stile senza tempo delle dive di ieri, anni '40, '50 e '60. 

Partite nel 2013, vendono nella loro boutique milanese e in vetrine in luoghi rinomati come Venezia, Porto Cervo e Miami. 

I vestiti dei sogni - Mostra

Questa volta andiamo al Palazzo Braschi a vedere una mostra dove Cinema e Moda si incontrano. E' la mostra I vestiti dei sogni, dedicata ai costumi per cinema realizzati da costumisti italiani.

Dalle dive del muto a Marie Antoiette, da Il gattopardo a La grande bellezza.

Oltre 100 abiti originali, decine di bozzetti e una selezione di oggetti.
A volte la forza di un personaggio, si può esprimere anche nei suoi vestiti e nei colori, come nel caso di Jep Gambardella, il protagonista de La grande bellezza. La costumista Daniela Ciancio per Jep si è ispirata al gagà napoletano, allo stile caprese e amalfitano degli anni Sessanta. Anche l'utilizzo del colore è importante giacche sgargianti accostate a capi neutri e a pantaloni bianchi.
Anche per Ramona (interpretata da Sabrina Ferilli) gli abiti sono fondamentali. La sua fragilità è espressa dal suo modo di vestire sempre fuori luogo. 

Il costume non deve essere solo un elemento esteriore e decorativo, ma vita, come insegna Il Gattopardo. Visconti voleva solo gente viva e vera davanti alla macchina da presa, voleva sottolineare i sentimenti anche attraverso l'immagine. Infatti, per creare gli abiti  Tosi, il costumista del film, si ispirò alle fotografie d'epoca di nobili famiglie siciliane imparentate con Tomasi di Lampedusa.

Marie Antoinette's Dresses in a Silk and Cake World

Ceremony - New Order

Precious embroidery and pastel-coloured dresses are the ingredients of the costumes of Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette.  The movie received the Oscar for the costumes designed by the Italian Milena Canonero.

For the costumes were used  pastel colors, silks, taffeta, satin, and lace from the 18th century.

"At the start of pre-production, Coppola handed Canonero a box of pastel-coloured macaroons from the Ladurée pastry house. "She told me, 'These are the colours I love'," recalls Canonero. "I used them as a palette. Sofia was clear about the colouration, but left the rest to me. We squeezed the essence of the period, without reproducing it. Even if you think you know a lot about it," she argues, "you always have to look for a new angle. I simplified the very heavy look of the 18th century. I wanted it to be believable, but more stylized."

The designer look at something that exists in the past and depart from there. In fact the cut of the clothes was correct, but the color combinations and the hair was inventive. Sofia Coppola wanted to capture in the design the way in which she imagined the essence of Marie Antoinette's spirit. The film is candy colors, its atmosphere and the music all evoke how Coppola saw the world from Marie Antoinette' point of view. "She was in a total silk and cake world. It was complete bubble right up until the very end" Sofia Coppola said.

She wanted the clothes show Marie Antoinette evolution from a very young girl to a sophisticated woman.
